Hello everyone,
My name is Donna Butts. For those of you who do not know me, I am the owner and operator of Donnas Studio. My husband Larry and I reside in Clarksville, Tennessee where we have been married for twenty-five years. We have a beautiful daughter, Brandi, who has successfully competed in pageants for the first sixteen years of her life. Presently, she has been coaching with me for the past seven years.
Many contributing factors led to the creation of my studio. Starting at a very young age, I began extensively training in all forms of dance and baton twirling. For years, I twirled competitively on both State and National levels. At sixteen, I was tested and certified to coach baton twirling through the United States Twirling Association. I taught twirling for seven years and was very successful at producing champion twirlers. I knew then I had a gift to coach and enjoyed working with children.
After my marriage, I continued coaching, performing, competing, and hosting twirling competitions. Upon being introduced into the world of runway modeling, I began modeling professionally, and coordinating fashion shows. It was at this point in my life when all the tables began to turn. In late December of 1982, my only child Brandi was born. At only nine months old, she entered her first pageant and was crowned Baby Miss Montgomery County. I then discovered another passion, the stage! Shortly after, Donnas Studio took a whole new direction toward pageant preparation for children.
By the mid eighties, childrens pageants were the rage! I tested the waters of pro am modeling by choreographing presentations that wowed the audience and left the judges wanting more. This created a contagious new wave in the pageant industry. Thus, pro am modeling went from straight and very basic modeling to where it is today.
By word of mouth, a little advertising, and a lot of winners, my business flourished. It opened an opportunity to expand nationally. This possibility became a reality. Currently, my studio roster has nearly 300 and covers twenty-two states. Along with studio growth came the demand for coaching assistants. I have been very selective in choosing six young ladies as part of my coaching staff who were wonderful students during their competing years and are now excellent coaches. Their years of training and pageant experience shaped them into ideal role models and perfect examples of what good can come from pageantry.
I am a perfectionist; and, along with quality coaching, I take pride in maintaining a standard of ethics that is the foundation of my studio. My staff and I always keep the best interest of every child at heart. We are impartial coaches training every student to be their personal best. I encourage a positive attitude and expect good sportsmanship from all the students and their parents. We promote honest pageants and credible pageant venders to our students. My studio is not only reputable for creating national winners; but, has become a fostering environment for children to learn valuable social skills that they will carry throughout their lives.
My personal goal is to help children look past the glory of the crown, and find the winner within themselves. I really hope that you consider joining our ELITE GROUP!
Love,
Ms. Donna
